About Saratoga

The City of Saratoga is a lovely residential community with a small-town feel tucked away on the foothills of the west side of the Santa Clara Valley, directly west of San Jose, on the Western edge of the Silicon Valley in the San Francisco Bay Area. the Santa Cruz Mountains of California,  The City is well known for its high quality of life, excellent schools, fine dining, unique shops, and distinctive cultural institutions. Saratoga holds a special place in the hearts of residents and visitors alike.

Saratoga CA is a great place to raise a family with schools that rank within the top 3% of all California schools. In 2008 CNN/Money ranked Saratoga number 4 in its listing of top-earning towns. Saratoga also was ranked by Forbes in 2009 as one of Americas top 20 most-educated small towns. In 2010 Bloomberg Business week named Saratoga the most expensive suburb in California. Bloomberg Business week also named Saratoga zip code 95070 the 18th richest zip code in America in 2011.

Major attractions of Saratoga include Villa Montalvo, Hakone Gardens, and the Mountain Winery. The 2013 Home Listing Report listed Saratoga as the 3rd most expensive housing market in the United States.

Shopping and Dining

The Village, Saratoga’s historic downtown district, is filled to the brim with unique shops and fine dining destinations. Saratoga’s dedication to retaining its small-town feel means that smaller, locally owned shops aren’t the exception – they’re the standard.

The population was 29,926 on the 2010 census.

The City of Saratoga built a 50,000 square foot library in 2003. It is operated by the Santa Clara County Library District. It features a large adult section, a periodicals section and a 16,000 square foot children/youth section. There is a Chinese language section as well. There are numerous computers with internet connections at the library and music CD’s and DVD’s for listening and viewing.
